INTRODUCTION

Take A Room, Or Take The House

Doric columns, Art Deco leadlight, encaustic tile in the hall. Four rooms named for gemstones and what they are said to mean - Lapis, Emerald, Amber, Pearl.

Every room has its own ensuite and its own digital lock. The lounge, dining room, verandah and garden are shared - unless you take the whole house, in which case they aren't.

Outside there are four places to sit - the front porch, a wood-burning fire pit, a table on the lawn, and the rear patio.

The green and gold cabinet in Pearl I refinished myself.

The kitchen comes with the house, not with a room.

THE WHOLE HOUSE

Everyone Under One Roof

Take all four rooms and the shared spaces stop being shared. One round table that seats eight, a lounge, a verandah, a garden and a fire pit - and nobody else in the building. Eight guests, four ensuites, one front door.
