Questions, Answered

Can I book a single room at The Mooring Inn, or do I need the whole house?

Either. The four rooms are individually bookable, and taking all four gives you the house and the shared spaces to yourselves. The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol and The Tonic are booked as a whole home only.

Why book direct?

You deal with me rather than a platform. There are no booking fees, it is my lowest rate, and you are messaging me from the moment you book.

How do I pay?

Fifty per cent when you book and the balance fourteen days before you arrive. Both are taken automatically, so there is nothing to remember.

What is your cancellation policy?

For direct bookings at The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol, The Tonic and the whole house at The Mooring Inn, a full refund up to fourteen days before arrival and fifty per cent up to seven days before. For individual rooms at The Mooring Inn, a full refund up to forty-eight hours before arrival. The policy shown when you book is the one that applies to your stay.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm at all four properties. Check-out is 10am, except for individual rooms at The Mooring Inn, which check out at 11am. Earlier or later can often be arranged, so ask. If you are arriving later than 8pm at The Mooring Inn, or later than 10pm at the others, just let me know beforehand and I will sort it out.

How do I get in?

At The Mooring Inn it is self check-in on a digital lock, and your code comes through 24 hrs before check-in. At The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol and The Tonic there is a lockbox with a key and the code comes through the same way. Either way there is nobody to meet. Full instructions, with photographs, are in the guidebook I send you before you arrive, along with the wifi, where to park and everything else you might want to know.

Are children welcome?

Yes, at The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol and The Tonic, and yes if you take the whole house at The Mooring Inn. The individual rooms at The Mooring Inn are adults only.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, at The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol and The Tonic. The Mooring Inn does not take pets. Tell me about your dog when you book so I can make sure the house or apartment suits. There is a $120 pet fee per booking, not per night.

Is there a kitchen?

The Sapphire House, Terra de Sol and The Tonic each have a full kitchen. At The Mooring Inn the kitchen comes with a whole-house booking. Individual rooms have their own coffee station and mini fridge.

What is provided?

Hotel linen and towels, hired weekly and commercially laundered, so they arrive crisp and pressed. Essentials, coffee worth getting up for, fast wifi, and a guide to the neighbourhood written by me rather than pulled off the internet. Check out the amenity list on the website for the complete list.

Is parking available?

Yes, The Sapphire House has secure driveway parking for one vehicle, with free street parking nearby. Terra de Sol and The Tonic each have two designated secure bays. At The Mooring Inn the driveway holds three cars, parked so everyone can get out without moving anyone else. Take whichever space is free when you arrive. A fourth car parks on the street out front. The garage is not for guest use.

Can I walk to anything?

At The Sapphire House, everything. Beaufort Street is the local strip and it has the coffee, the food and a Woolworths, all on foot. Buses run straight into the city from there and the train station is close by. Terra de Sol and The Tonic are 800 metres from Bassendean station on the Midland line into Perth, and about 1.5km to the shopping centre for a proper supermarket run. The Mooring Inn has the Hilton shops within an easy walk, which covers coffee, fresh food, Coles, Post Office, Gift store and laundromat. Fremantle centre is 3.5km and South Beach about 4km, so a short drive or the bus, and there is a stop close to the house.

Anything I should know?

No smoking and no parties at any of the properties. Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am on weekdays, and 10pm to 9am on weekends and public holidays.

Still not sure, ask me.
