Home / Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information I collect when you use this website or book a stay with me, how I use and store it, who I share it with, and how you can see or correct it. I handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
This website and my four stays are run by me, Louise Thompson, through Louise Thompson & Co Pty Ltd in Perth, Western Australia. In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Louise Thompson & Co Pty Ltd.
I only collect what I need to answer you and look after your stay. I collect it directly from you, or from my booking engine when you book.
I do not ask for sensitive information such as health details. If you choose to tell me something like an access need, I will only use it to look after your stay.
You are welcome to ask general questions without giving your name. To take a booking, I do need your name and contact details.
I do not sell or rent your personal information, and I will not send you marketing emails unless you ask me to. If you do and later change your mind, just let me know and I will stop.
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. It does not use advertising cookies. A few outside services help it work:
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and this website will still work.
I only share your information when I need to, and only as much as is needed:
This website is hosted in Australia. Some of my other providers, including Hostaway and Google, may store or access information outside Australia, including in the United States. I choose providers who take reasonable steps to protect it.
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. This website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and access to my booking and email systems is limited to me and the people who help me run the stays.
If there is ever a data breach that is likely to cause you serious harm, I will let you know and tell the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where the law requires it.
I keep enquiries, including the copy in the website’s email log, only for as long as I need them to reply and follow up. Booking records are kept for as long as Australian law requires, which for tax records is generally five years. After that, I delete them or remove anything that identifies you.
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, or ask me to correct or delete it. There is no charge to ask. Email me and I will reply within 30 days. I may need to confirm who you are first. If I cannot do what you ask, for example because the law requires me to keep a record, I will tell you why.
If you have a question or a concern about how I have handled your information, please contact me first using the details above. I will look into it and reply within 30 days. If you are not happy with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
